NEURODIVERGENCES & DISORDERS PTSD PHYSICAL DISABILITIES & CHRONIC ILLNESSES tar serum side effects POWERS / ABILITIES - tar serum — the tar serum (or black serum) was a nazi experiment with the goal of creating immortal super soldiers. at the time lewis took it out of desperation, it was still in its testing stages.
the serum resulted in super strength, heightened stamina and endurance, rapid regeneration, pain suppression, and eventual resurrection.
post-resurrection lewis exhibits side effects including distorted consciousness (paranoia, waves of memory loss), occasional physical alterations (darkened, visible veins and bleeding from the eyes), and waves of extreme aggression.
after the canon events of overlord: buried beneath the rubble of the church in ciel-blanc, france, corporal lewis ford’s body slowly nursed itself back to health with the help of the tar serum. after years of lying dormant, ford’s body hummed to life, reanimated. disoriented, he clawed his way from the soil, finding himself in a world that had forgotten him and covered up the existence of the serum.inexplicably, ford maintains a significantly more stable body than other test subjects. he avoids severe mutations, though his body occasionally begins to break itself down resulting in the darkening of veins, leaking of blood from the tear ducts, and occasional loss of motor control resulting in tremors or seizure-like symptoms with no loss of consciousness.ford’s mind and temperament too has been altered by the serum and explosion. he has bouts of memory loss, forgetting events post-resurrection and believing he is still in the midst of mission overlord. he also has bouts of extreme paranoia, aggression/irritability, and a rare drive to return to the pool of tar.
